SAUTERNES

Very well-known and normally-expensive French sweet wine, produced in the Bordeaux sub-region of Graves. Made out of raisined, partially rotten grapes (due to presence of Botrytis cinereal – noble rot), this wine is very concentrated and flavoured, with its delicate, floral character and rich notes of honey being much appreciated for maturation of spirits.
